Founderhop is a free website where verified founders and business owners meet on live 1-on-1 video. You sign up with a business email, enter a room, and you're paired with one random founder. When you're done, you press Hop and meet the next person.
That's the whole idea. This page explains who it's for, how it works, what you'll see, and where it falls short.
Who is Founderhop for?
Founderhop is for people who run, or work in, a real business:
- Solo founders and co-founders
- Startup CEOs
- Agency, studio and shop owners
- Consultants and independent builders
People use it to find a co-founder, get honest feedback on a product, meet customers and partners, or simply talk to someone who understands the job.
It is open to founders in any country. There is no region filter and pairing is random, so a call can be with someone on the other side of the world.
How it works
- Verify your business email. Sign up with your work email. We send a 6-digit code to it. Gmail and other free emails aren't accepted.
- Enter the room. Click once. You're paired with a random verified founder or business owner on live video.
- Talk, chat, hop. Have the conversation. Share links in the chat. Press Hop when you're done to meet the next founder.
Signing up takes about a minute.
What you see in the room
- Two equal video windows, side by side on a laptop and stacked on a phone. One is the person you're talking to and one is you.
- Their name, role, company and country under their video, so you know who you're talking to and where they are.
- Controls for your microphone, camera and chat.
- A chat panel where you can type and share links.
- A Hop button to meet the next person.
- A report button if someone breaks the rules.
What Founderhop is not
- Not a feed. There are no followers, likes or public profiles.
- Not a recording service. Calls are never recorded.
- Not a sales tool. If someone is rude, or only wants to sell to you, you can report them.
- Not a contact-sharing machine. There's no one-tap button to hand over your contact details. If you click with someone, you can share a link in the chat and decide for yourself.
- Not an app you install. It runs in the browser on your phone and your laptop.
How it compares

| Speed to a conversation | Slow | Slow | Medium | Fast | Fast |
| Know who you're talking to | Sometimes | Sometimes | Sometimes | No | Yes: verified business email |
| One-to-one | Yes | Sometimes | No | Yes | Yes |

Cold messages, events and group chats still have their place. See our guide to meeting other founders online for how to use all of them. Founderhop is for the moments when you want a real conversation now.
Is it like Omegle?
The idea of a random 1-on-1 video chat is similar. Almost everything else is different: only verified members can enter, there's no anonymous mode, reports are reviewed and rule-breakers are banned, and it is built for a professional audience. Omegle itself shut down in November 2023. Read more in our guide to Omegle alternatives for founders and professionals.
Safety and privacy in short
- Members verify a business email and can add a LinkedIn profile.
- You can report someone in one tap. They'll never appear in your room again, and the team reviews every report.
- Calls are never recorded. Chat messages aren't stored, except that the last messages of a chat are saved for review if someone is reported.
- Video and audio go directly between the two browsers, encrypted in transit, or through an encrypted relay if a direct connection isn't possible. The technology behind this is called WebRTC.
- Other members don't see your email address or your LinkedIn link. They see your name, role, company and country, never your city.
You can read more in our guide to video chat safety for professionals, and the full privacy policy.
Honest limits
- It's new. At any moment there may be only a few people in the room. Invite a founder friend, and try at busy times.
- It's random. Not every chat will be a fit. That's part of the idea, and Hop is always one tap away.
- It needs your camera and microphone. Your browser will ask for permission. On a phone, open the link in Chrome or Safari, not inside another app.
- A business email is a filter, not a guarantee. Read why business email verification matters for what it does and doesn't prove.
Frequently asked questions
What is Founderhop?
Founderhop is a free website for live 1-on-1 video chat between random, verified founders and business owners. You verify a business email, enter the room, and get paired with one person at a time.
Can I meet founders from other countries?
Yes. Founderhop has no country restriction. Anyone with a business email can join from anywhere in the world, and pairing is random, so a call can be with a founder in another country or time zone. The site is in English.
Do other members see where I am?
They see your country, worked out from your connection, next to your name, role and company. They don't see your city, address, email address or LinkedIn link.
Who is Founderhop for?
Founders, co-founders and business owners who have a business email address. It suits people who want to find a co-founder, get feedback, meet customers and partners, or talk to someone who understands running a business.
Is Founderhop free?
Yes. Founderhop is free to join and use while it launches. There's no card to enter and no plan to pick.
How is Founderhop different from Omegle?
Founderhop is also a random 1-on-1 video chat, but only verified members can enter, there's no anonymous mode, reports are reviewed, and it is built for founders and business owners. Omegle shut down in November 2023.
Does Founderhop record calls?
No. Calls are never recorded. Chat messages aren't stored either, except that the last messages of a chat are saved for review if a member reports it.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Founderhop runs in the browser on phones and laptops. On a phone, open it in Chrome or Safari so your camera and microphone work.
Why can't I sign up with Gmail?
A business email shows that you run, or work in, a real business, and it keeps casual users and spam out. Free emails such as Gmail aren't accepted.
